Quiet/Still Mind

Quiet mind meditation is when you allow no-thought to be in your mind. If any thought comes in you simply let it go on out. Hold an empty mind for as long as you can.

Thoughts are like tornadoes or hurricanes that swirl energy around in vortex fashion through your brain. Stilling the mind makes those swirling energies dissipate and vaporize so that only the mind itself is left. This keeps Shashi from being tossed around and bumped into by vortex energies that are most useful in left-brained, day to day thinking processes.

When the mind is quiet then the background energies that don't swirl, including the subconscious mind, can be stronger to achieve what is needed.

There are a few things that I recommend.

1. Breathe only through your left nostril. This will send your energy to the right hemisphere of the brain.
2. Sitting is preferred for reasons that we can get into in the meditation/prayer forum.
3. Use any quiet-the-mind, silent mind, still mind, meditation you like. It is in mental stillness that ShaShi can do it's best work.
4. Be in a dark room and even though the meditation brings in a white light, I recommend sending that light out and gathering warm, comforting, darkness in your mind to stimulate the pineal gland. (Now you know why I want to make my own medt!) I do not know of any "in darkness" meditations, ergo this one till I make my own.
